I’m excited to share our experience at the significant 50th anniversary of the World of Concrete (WoC) 2024, which took place from January 23-25 in Las Vegas.
This isn’t just any event; it’s the only annual international event dedicated to celebrating innovations in concrete and masonry industries.
A sprawling 700,000 square feet of the Las Vegas Convention Center was buzzing with the energy of 450 businesses and 60,000 participants from around the globe.
The event was vibrant with the potential for networking, driving an impressive growth in new connections and client gains.
This was the place to be, where the construction industry’s pulse was felt beating stronger than ever.
Here are my insights from the event.
Remember when construction felt the heavy hand of COVID-19 restrictions just a few years back? Just 4 years ago, construction activities were declared limited in 45 US states.
Fast forward to 2024, and we’re not just back; we’re hitting record-breaking levels of growth and innovation.
For example, as of January 2024, the US had about 8 million construction jobs, the highest amount since COVID-19.
The WoC 2024 stood a testament to this growth, hosting an all-time high of 325 first-time international exhibitors.
Despite the existing economic conditions, the construction industry has not just recovered; it’s reinvented itself, taking on the future with more vigor and vision.
For too long, construction was the last frontier for tech innovation. But no more!
This year’s WoC showcased mind-blowing construction tech advancements that are set to revolutionize our industry.
According to AGC’s Industry Hiring and Business Outlook Survey Results Overview, contractors are increasingly interested in technology investments.
AGC’s Chef Economist Ken Simonson, in the survey overview video, says:
Indeed, this year’s WoC participants’ innovations supported the increasing need for tech in this changing industry.
And it’s not just about the gadgets; it’s about harnessing these technologies to build smarter, safer, and more efficiently than ever before.
For us at MobiClocks®, WoC 2024 was a goldmine of opportunity, allowing us to forge over 200 new relationships and strengthen existing ones.
It’s in these interactions, these shared moments, that lay the groundwork for potential projects ahead.
We had the chance to come across employees of about all our valued partners, including Sage, Foundation, and Vista.
Recently, we launched an integration with Acumatica, a top-notch business management system known for achieving the highest customer satisfaction in the industry.
We were thrilled to have our partner Acumatica’s booth next to us! The chance to network with the Acumatica teams was fantastic.
We’re excited about deepening our collaboration with their professional team.
We hosted a Happy Hour for our current and potential partners during the event. It was a key opportunity to build stronger relationships and discuss new ways to work together.
More than that, WoC lets us show how valuable it is when our loyal customers talk about their experiences with the new ones.
They shared what it’s like to start with us, the effort needed, and how our support works.
Hearing directly from our customers truly underscores their trust and depth of understanding of MobiClocks® product and the value it has brought to their organizations.
If we imagine that by 2025, 75% of the general workforce will consist of millennials who grew up on technology, we can say that the construction industries will not fall behind.
The new generation of construction leadership is actively searching for digital solutions to help them make informed business decisions.
For instance, about 50% of MobiClocks®’s clients come from paper-based solutions searching for real-time insights and operational efficiency in business strategies.
Our clients see tangible benefits, with ROI hitting 100% in under a month! This is more than innovation.
Looking back on World of Concrete 2024, we’re excited about what’s next. It’s been an unparalleled platform for showcasing innovation, networking, and driving construction industries forward.
The countdown to WoC 2025 in Las Vegas has already begun, and we can’t wait to meet leading concrete companies and see new suppliers showcasing solutions.
Stay tuned for more breakthroughs, connections, and opportunities.
